About Us

At WorldReach, we believe the Lord has called us to a ministry that allows Him to work through us to accomplish His purpose.

The Apostle Paul told the elders from the churches in Ephesus, “But I count my life of no value to myself so that I may finish my course and the ministry I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of God’s grace” (Acts 20:24 HCSB).  Paul was given a specific ministry from our Lord.  He was focused on completing that mission, whatever the cost.  Our desire is to stay focused on the ministry the Lord Jesus has given us.  Towards this end, we have developed our mission, vision, and strategies.

  • Our Mission:  to mobilize and equip the church for global missions.
  • Our Vision: to effectively share the gospel and lead Christians to bring the message of saving faith in Jesus Christ to all peoples of the world.
  • Our Strategy:  to develop leaders within local churches to lead mission efforts for evangelism, church planting, and discipleship.  We partner with like-minded Christians who have a heart to reach others for Christ around the world.

Prince Avenue Baptist Church has a history of being actively involved with missions.  Since 1979, the Lord has worked through His people at PABC to establish five related ministries:  a K-12th Christian school; a pregnancy crisis center; a 20,000 watt FM Christian radio station; a pregnancy crisis center; and Hispanic and Korean ministries.  Before that, the Lord used the people of PABC to plant two local churches and one in another state.  In obedience to the Lord’s leading and under the leadership of long-time pastor Bill Ricketts  (Brother Bill to most everyone), the church called its first Minister of Missions and Evangelism in August 1999.

As the Missions ministry began to grow, the Lord showed those involved how He had given PABC a tremendous network of people who are literally serving Him around the world.  The University of Georgia attracted people from all across the globe.  God had used PABC to minister to them as they came to the University and to see many birthed into  His kingdom as a result of His ministries at PABC.  Why had God allowed this network to be established?  It was with this question in mind that a time of prayer took place to seek what God was inviting them to join Him in doing.  The result was a realization that He wanted the missions ministry to use this extensive network to mobilize and equip the church for global missions – not just the local body of believers at PABC, but His global church.

The natural question came: “How is this to be done?”  As they sought the answer through prayer, it became apparent that PABC already had established a model of related ministries that could be used as the vehicle to accomplish the task being given.  On July 1st, 2001 with the concurrence of the pastor, staff, deacons, and members, WorldReach Ministries officially came into existence as the sixth related ministry of PABC. WorldReach Ministries is under the authority of Prince Avenue Baptist Church and receives annual support from PABC to assist in its general and administrative expenses.  All financial records are handled by the financial staff of PABC, but WorldReach has its own bank accounts, and all financial records are segregated from those of PABC.  There is no intermingling of funds with any other ministries of PABC.
